Amanda Brugel

(February 27 2010 - Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a secluded community in the part of Montreal known as"the West Island. This part of Montreal is known as the West Island has a lot of diverse communities. For those who haven't known about it may mistake it for a separate island facing west. Amanda Brugel's birthplace has been frequently cited, however her short visit to the West Island was not. Brugel was an aspiring young lady in Courtice Ontario, outside Oshawa. In her early years she wanted to be professional performer, however an unexpected expansion of her body made it impossible. In an interview with the Toronto Star, she confessed that "In heels I am 6 feet 1 inches." When I grew out of male companions, that's when I gave up. There are many dancers who make the move to acting. In the case of the Brugel family, it was their drama instructor who pushed her in that direction. She was recommended by a teacher getting a part in the school's annual production. Following a trial the role, she was chosen as the leading lady of Anne of Green Gables. The show led her to receive the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship from York University. In 2000, she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts at York University. Over the last 20 years, her work has been seen on both the small and large screen. The most notable was her fame when she was offered the role as Rita in the award-winning television show The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was only seen on a few moments in the very first season of the show The Handmaid's Tale. The only Canadian participant.
